St. Tammany Parish will host a special free Louisiana Idol concert June 11 at the Tammany Trace Trailhead Caboose on Koop Drive north of Mandeville.

The concert will feature four Louisiana contestants from the 2011 season of American Idol, Lauren Turner, Jovany Barreto, Jacee Badeaux and Jacquelyn Dupree.

Turner has been singing since she was a baby, entering many competitions along the way to her appearance on 2011 season of American Idol. She has spent time in Nashville and other areas honing her craft, and advanced to the Top 24 finalists of this year’s season.

Barreto brings his bilingual abilities to the singing stage, and advanced to the Top 16 finalists in this year’s season.  He loves displaying his passion for his audiences through his performances.

Badeaux just finished his junior year at Lafayette High School, where he is in the Performing Arts Academy.  He sings in both his school and church choir, and advanced to this season’s Top 40 of American Idol.

Dupree has been performing nearly her whole life, and has traveled to perform in such locales as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Branson, Missouri.  After advancing to Hollywood on this year’s American Idol, she and Lauren were roommates while there.

The 2011 Louisiana Idols Concert is free and open to the public. There is no outside food or drinks allowed. It is sponsored by St. Tammany Parish Government, Tammany Trace Foundation, Champagne Beverages, Randall Brown, and Ronnie Beard.  It is supported by a grant from the Louisiana State Arts Council through the Louisiana Division of the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.  For more information on the concert, call the Tammany Trace at 867-9490.
